BYD Qin Plus Keys and Digital Access: Pre-Purchase Checks
Before accepting a Qin Plus, establish how you will unlock, start and manage the actual car after handover. A video of the seller using a phone is not proof that the same function will work for you. Physical keys, supported digital features and account access belong on the purchase checklist, not in an informal promise after payment.

Inventory the access items actually supplied
Ask the seller to identify and demonstrate each physical key or card included with the car. Verify the ordinary access and start functions one item at a time while the other items are kept out of the test range under appropriate guidance. A pair of matching cases is not evidence that both are programmed. Record what will physically transfer with the vehicle.
Separate app demonstrations from transferable features
Identify the original market, installed software and the features supported for your destination. Ask whether an account can legitimately be transferred or newly registered using your own details. Do not assume a China-market app, mobile service or digital key will operate abroad. Keep essential driving access independent of unverified connected functions and never buy on the promise of a future unofficial unlock.

Price missing items through an authorised route
If a key is missing, ask a legitimate service provider what identification, ownership evidence and vehicle access it requires to supply and register a replacement. Obtain an estimate for the exact version and clarify the treatment of missing keys. Do not assume a generic online blank or a copy of a case will provide the required electronic function.
Document a privacy-conscious handover
Follow the applicable manufacturer procedure for previous-user accounts and personal information. Confirm the agreed access items and supported functions during handover rather than retaining someone else’s credentials. Keep the receipt and service record for replacement work. If an account or key issue remains unresolved, state who is responsible and whether the car can be accepted without that function.
What to request before agreeing the purchase
- A separate working demonstration of every supplied key or supported access item.
- A written statement of transferable connected functions in your destination.
- A legitimate replacement estimate and a clear account-handover responsibility.

The buying decision
Treat missing keys and uncertain digital access as identifiable purchase conditions. A Qin Plus that meets your needs with verified physical access may still be suitable without optional connected services, but that limitation should be understood before agreement.
Questions buyers ask
Does a working app on the seller’s phone transfer to me automatically?
No. Check the account and regional support requirements for the exact car and service.
Can a spare key be added after purchase?
Ask a legitimate provider to confirm the process and cost first; availability and requirements vary by version and destination.
