BYD Qin Plus EV: Fleet Charging Between Shifts

A Qin Plus EV fleet order should start with a charging schedule, not a quoted range figure. Vehicles need to return, connect and be ready for their next shift without creating a queue that disrupts the business. A practical trial with the intended duty cycle is more useful than multiplying a brochure number by fleet size.

Fleet planning sequence: measure routes, map arrivals, test charging and check readiness.

Map the actual shift

Record daily distance, waiting time, passenger or cargo load, climate-control use and the longest unavoidable trip. Mark the time each car reaches the depot and leaves again. Separate average demand from the busiest day. If the schedule leaves no recovery time, plan for interruptions rather than assuming every driver returns with the same battery state.

Confirm vehicle and charger compatibility

Identify the selected Qin Plus EV version and connector, then have the proposed charging equipment checked for compatibility. Confirm electrical capacity with a qualified installer and the property operator. The number printed on a charger is not a guaranteed charging rate for every vehicle or battery condition. Do not base the plan on an untested adapter promise.

Run a small operational trial

Measure energy used, connection time, charging duration and the state of charge at departure under realistic conditions. Record queues and driver actions, not just the best charging session. Repeat with representative loads and weather when possible. Use the results to decide how many charging points are needed and whether a reserve vehicle or revised shift schedule is justified.

Turn the trial into an order specification

State required vehicle configuration, cables, driver instructions and the acceptance process for each car. Keep charger installation and vehicle delivery responsibilities clear. For used cars, include battery-condition evidence so different candidates are not assumed to perform identically. For new cars, confirm actual equipment and readiness dates. Order quantities should follow a workable operating plan and confirmed supply.

Questions before buying

Can one fast charger serve the entire fleet?

Only if the measured schedule, compatibility and downtime allow it. Calculate the queue and contingency needs instead of assuming sequential charging will fit.

Should the fleet use the maximum advertised range?

No. Plan with operational measurements and an appropriate reserve for the actual route and conditions.
